What's the research or science behind Somnee's technology?Updated 2 months ago

The science behind Somnee has been researched and developed since 2017 by Somnee's founders: four UC Berkeley neuroscientists including Dr. Matthew Walker, Dr. Robert T. Knight, Dr. Richard Ivry, and Dr. Ram Gurumoorthy.

Over the past 7 years, our science team has led several studies in clinical settings validating Somnee's technology, including a 3-year study conducted in our advanced sleep lab in Berkeley, CA and an at-home pilot study with 1,500+ nights of data collected. Both were blind, controlled research studies overseen by our Scientific Advisory board and approved by an independent Institutional Review Board.

An additional study validating Somnee was published in the peer-reviewed journal, Frontiers in Human Neuroscience in 2022. (Read here: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9872012/)

On average, Somnee has been found to:
- Reduce the time to fall asleep by 50%
- Decrease wake-ups by 33%
- Increase total sleep by ~30 minutes a night

More research to come. Stay tuned.
