There's a mark on my foreheadUpdated a month ago
If you notice a mark on your forehead after using Somnee:
1. Give skin time to heal
Please wait for the irritation to fade before using your Somnee headband again. Some users continue using Somnee by shifting the center of the headband slightly off to the side, avoiding sensor placement on the affected area.
2. Adjust headband tightness
Your headband may have been a bit too tight. Try adjusting the headband so it's snug, but not too tight. You should be able to fit one finger between the headband and your head. You may find that angling the back of the headband up or down around the back of your head helps find your comfort sweet spot.
3. Make sure skin is clean
Some skin creams, moisturizers, and natural skin oils can increase sensitivity to stimulation. Please wash your forehead and ensure it’s fully dry before using Somnee.
4. Electrodes may have dried out.
To keep electrodes at peak performance, we recommend storing them at room temperature and swapping open electrodes for new ones after every 3 nights (or before your 4th night), whether you’ve used your Somnee or not.
5. Full contact with skin
Hair or dust can interfere with stimulation. Make sure to pull back your hair when putting Somnee on, and that electrodes are clean before use.
6. Adjust stimulation intensity
Adjust your session's intensity in the app. Don't worry, this won't lessen your session's effectiveness.
5. Pre-existing skin conditions or sensitive skin
Some with pre-existing skin conditions (e.g., acne, eczema, scars), or who have more sensitive skin in general may experience skin irritation with Somnee. Please allow your skin to fully heal before using Somnee.
